Jasmine and Arden, Finally!

I was shocked when Jasmine wanted a picture with Arden. Granted, no one is smiling...but no one's crying or trying to hid, either. After I took the pic, Jasmine let go of Arden and attempted to get up in order to see the pic...silly Jas.

Arden actually really likes Jasmine. Jasmine made her laugh so much! Just check out the video. And don't worry, Jasmine was being gentler than it appears.

Funeral Home Hoppin'

I stopped at Hanes-Lineberry and Sechrest funeral homes while in Greensboro. Shockingly, Arden allowed strangers to hold her! She did very well that day and was actually awake during the visits. Here's a pic of her with Kyndal.

Arden at 28 Weeks

While in Greensboro, we went to the Colfax Ward for sacrament meeting. We sat with dad, Jasmine, and Meredith. Arden wore the sweater dress I got her from Old Navy for Christmas. Too cute!

So solemn with Grandpa Daniels. I see the resemblance!

Check out my bloomers!

Hehe...I'm hilarious!

Oh, daddy, you're hilarious, too!

Don't want to get my dress dirty, so I'll just wear it as a hat.

Annual Birthday Dinner

During our Greensboro visit, my mom took us out for our annual birthday dinner. We went to Red Robin. I had the yummy BLTA. Anywho, we heard the staff singing a birthday song to someone, so Meredith decided to mention to our waitress that we were there celebrating our birthdays. The waitress asked whose birthday it was, and I told her it wasn't anyone's birthday today. We just all had April birthdays. We were all a bit embarrassed with Meredith's remark and went on eating our dinner. After we were finished, we were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff came over and sang to us, and we all got free ice cream sundaes! Even Adam...whose birthday isn't until August. Hehe! So, way to go Meredith for having the guts!

And of course we got Arden all cutified for the occasion.

A smile for Aunt Catie.

Lewises All Around

So I feel kind of bad that these are the only photos I took of Adam's family during our visit. At least I got one of Bryce and Arden together. I think you can tell they're cousins. So cute!

Visiting with Aunt Meredith

Meredith loves being an aunt! She was one of the first people to see Arden during our visit.

I also forgot to put a "Happy Birthday" post yesterday, which was her birthday. So, happy birthday, Meredith! I hope you had a good 31st!

I told Meredith to push Arden backwards to keep the sun out of her face. Teehee!

Peaches!

We gave Arden her first taste of pureed peaches yesterday. Not sure if she liked them or not. They mostly ended up on her face. Ever since her doctor's appointment, I've been getting her to try solids everyday. She just ends up spitting everything out, though.

Naked as a Jay Bird

Here's a cute little video of Arden sitting. She still does it best when she's in her birthday suit.

Huh?

How can both of these pants be size 3-6 months and yet be totally different sizes?! So dumb! Just like women's clothing. I guess it'll be awhile before she can wear her cute little jeans.

6-Month Well Baby Checkup

Arden had her checkup yesterday. First came her height measurement: 25.5 inches (50th %.) Then came her noggin measurement: 16.5 inches. Now it was time for her weight. I really thought she was 13 pounds. Boy was I wrong! Only 11 pounds 14 ounces. She's completely fallen off the growth chart. At least she's doubled her birth weight. The doctor said she's perfectly healthy...just a little concerned about the weight.

I was able to entertain her for the most part, but she started getting cranky after the doctor came into the room. She fussed at him while he examined her. By the time the shots came around, she was a complete fuss face. The nurse gave her the oral vaccine first, which she choked on. She was so preoccupied with choking and crying that she didn't even notice the shots. She kept making this crazy noise...kind of like a dry heave...and kept sticking her tongue out. It worried me a bit, but it didn't last too long. Once I got her in her carseat and into the car, she fell asleep.

She actually ended up being in a pretty good mood. She was a little out of it but still content. The doctor said I need to feed her solids twice a day, so I gave rice cereal another shot yesterday. As you can see by the video, she still isn't quite sure what to do with it. Practice makes perfect!

I took her for a stroller ride later that day. It was very sunny, so I decked her out.

Polka Dots!

When I was a little girl, say kindergarten age, I had a rainbow polka-dotted dress. It was my favorite! I wore it to school one day. For some unknown reason, I tried to cut it with scissors. When my attempts failed, the boy next to me gave it a try. He succeeded. It upset me very much to have my dress cut, so I told the teacher on him. He got sent to the principal's office and got a paddling. How evil of me!

Anywho, I saw this dress at Walmart, and it reminded me of the good ol' days. I just had to get it for Arden (plus it was only $3!) Here's my cute 27-week-old baby girl!

Afternoon Trip

We took a little trip to Greenville on Friday afternoon. I hadn't been to Catie's new place yet, and I had a Coldstone Creamery coupon burning a hole in my pocket. Arden wasn't too thrilled at first, but she warmed up eventually. We had dinner at East Coast Wings (mozerella-filled breadsticks...mmmm!), went to Kohls and then to Coldstone. Arden took several naps that day, and she ended up going to bed an hour late. She was such a little trooper!

Sittin' Pretty

My sweet little girl gave me a great gift on my birthday. She sat without any support! I had to prop her up that way, of course, and she had to be naked. She's not as flexible with a diaper on. I think she was pretty proud of herself.

Have you ever seen a cuter little butt crack? Hehe!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I'm 29 years old today! One year away from the big 3-0. Ugh, I'm starting to feel old. I just need to remember age is just a number.

I had a great birthday today! First, I didn't get out of bed until 10 a.m. (after Arden's first morning feeding, of course.) And I awoke to what I thought was the smell of chocolate cake. Yum!

Later this evening, Adam gave me my b-day gifts. Here's what I got:

A baby monitor. Now I have no more excuses to keep Arden from sleeping in her crib at night. Hmm...wonder why she's asleep in my room right now...hehe

And a Wii with a Wii fit! I can't wait to try this sucker out! Hopefully it'll help me lose that baby weight.

Adam then took me out to dinner. We ate at 37th St. Pizzeria. It was very yummy, and the portions were great for the price. I had lasagna, and Adam had tortellini. Arden was a happy baby the whole time.

After dinner, Adam gave Arden a bath to give me a break, and we had birthday cake. Turns out it was a mint chocolate chip ice cream brownie cake. Looks like Arden wants a slice!

It was quite delicious even though the frozen brownie was rock hard. :o)

It was a great day!
