Is This What It's Like to Have Kids?

When I got up this morning, this is what I found.

Catnip! Everywhere!

The culprit chillin' on some boxes. I guess he's on a catnip high!

A bed made out of catnip...this is the life.

Five Years in the Making

Sorry to keep everyone waiting...I know you're all dying in anticipation! Adam and I left to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary almost immediatley after the ultrasound, so I didn't have time to post anything.

I must say it brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw my little baby yesterday. The last time I saw the baby via ultrasound was at 6 weeks, and there really isn't much to see at that time. The ultrasound went great. I was afraid the jelly was going to be cold on my belly, but it was warm. The baby was moving its arms and legs...playing with its hands...covering its face...it even got the hiccups! It was amazing! I loved every second of it. Well, except for the part where the technician was digging into my belly to get the baby to turn over. She needed to get some shots of the heart...she got two out of three. The little booger wouldn't budge! Must've been naptime. So I have to go back in two weeks to try for the other picture. I don't mind it one bit as long as I get to see my little one again!

So enough chit-chatting, right? You all want to know if it's a boy or a girl, right?! Well, I noticed in the poll most of you said "girl." I suppose it's time to see if you're right.

Drumroll, please! Drrrrrrrrdrdrdrrrrrrrrdrdrdrrrrrr (or something like that).

It's.......a........

not quite....

almost there.....

Yep, that's right! Adam and I are having a baby girl! The majority of you guessed correctly. The little booger wasn't modest at all, showing us two little legs and nothing in between them! She was very photogenic, too. The technician said it was the best ultrasound she'd done all day! She looks perfect to me! This little girl is breaking the Lewis grandson streak, and she's giving my parents their first grandchild. We are thrilled!!!

Ultrasound Day!!

I'm so excited! I took the whole day off of work.
So Adam got home this morning from work and said, "How's our baby boy doing?" I just giggled. He then said, "Just because they don't see a penis, doesn't mean it isn't there."
Such a silly boy! I guess we'll find out soon...hopefully!

Graduation Celebration!

On Saturday we celebrated Adam's graduation from college. Yayyyyy!!!! We were wondering when this day would come. :o) He's so glad to be finished with school, and I'm glad I get to see him more often! His parents threw him a little party, and all of his immediate family was there.

If you click on the pic of the seal, it'll lead you to a video Adam made recalling his college years and UNCG's fake history. Quite hilarious, if you ask me! Just so you know...it's 9 minutes long.

This is Adam's American Beech tree. It was planted right before he left on his mission. If I was thinking about it, I would've gotten a pic of how it is today. It's much bigger now!

Adam's sister Amy has started a professional photography business. She decided to put her skills to the test and capture some family photos. I know I've never been a part of a Lewis family photo, and we've been married for five years! Check them out below. I really like the one with Adam, me, and our baby bump! It's about time we have a decent photo together.

The pictures below are random pictures I took...nothing professional (obviously). Although I do like the one with Gavin and the puppy.

Bella the Cute

Catie has taken on the role of mother. She is taking care of a 6-week-old puppy until it's ready to be given a more permanent home. The little darling is the runt of a litter of 14 puppies and weighs less than 2 pounds. Her brothers and sisters are around six pounds. Catie named her Bella, and she certainly is a little cutie.

I kind of went video-clip crazy with the little booger.

Tickle spot!

Conan Oliver didn't think Bella was too cute!

Isn't she just the sweetest! I think Catie will have a hard time giving her up.

17 Weeks!

I had a doctor's appointment on Friday. The baby's heartrate was 162, and I've gained a total of 5 pounds so far. Everything's looking and sounding good! The Countdown to Ultrasound has begun! My ultrasound has been scheduled for Friday, June 13th. I'm so excited! Hopefully, the baby won't be modest. I'm secretly (or not so secretly) hoping for a girl. Adam wishes for a boy. Chances are, it's a boy. Adam's parents have 4 grandchildren, all boys. It would be nice to have a girl in the mix. Girls run in my family, but I suppose that has nothing to do with me. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see! Girl or boy...I'm so happy :)

Ever-Shrinking Baby Bump?

These two pics were taken during week 16. Believe it or not the one on the left was taken a couple of days BEFORE the one on the right. Maybe it's what I'm wearing...maybe it's because I had recently eaten in the one on the left. Who knows!

Jessica's Graduation

My "little" cousin Jessica graduated from Calvary Baptist Christian School on May 16th. Dad, Meredith, and I were lucky enough to drive over to New Bern for it. Catie lives in Greenville, so she drove over there after work. They really don't live that far away, but for some reason we only see them around Thanksgiving. Silly, huh?

Turning of the tassels. There were only 6 people in Jessica's graduating class! I had over 350 in mine...

The smiling graduate...and Catie.
Allen, the proud younger brother...and Catie.

Yes, I took pictures of their cats. What can I say, I love kitties!
