She Laughed!

Last night, Arden laughed for the first time. It was during her bath. Her little laugh is the sweetest thing I've ever heard! Now if I could just figure out how to get her to do it again.

15 Weeks Today!

I can't believe Arden is 15 weeks old!

Just this past week, I realized I'm starting to get the hang of this mom thing. I CAN take a shower everyday! All I have to do is put her in her rocker chair in the bathroom after her morning feeding and take a shower. For some reason I thought she needed to be asleep in order for me to get a shower...I don't know why. I also realized she's supposed to be getting 10 hours of sleep a night, and that definitely wasn't happening. She would go to bed between 10:30 p.m. and midnight, wake up once during the night, and then be up for good once the sun came up. It definitely wasn't a 10-hour stretch. So I tried giving her a bath two hours earlier, feeding her one more time, and putting her to bed. It totally worked! Who knew! She's also sleeping longer. Just a couple nights ago she slept for 9 hours straight! I think that was just a fluke, though.

I was also able to take Arden to Relief Society at church today. It was the second time I tried this. The first time, we were 30 minutes late, and she only lasted 10 minutes. This time, we got there on time, and she lasted until 5 minutes 'til the end of class. I was able to nurse her during Sunday School, so I think that helped. Hopefully next week will be even better!
Below are a couple pics of what she wore to church today. I found the jumper dress at a consignment sale. So cute!

She fell asleep on our way home from church and slept for a couple of hours. This pic was taken after she awoke. "Feed me NOW, mom!"

After the feeding...much more tolerant!

I posted more pics from her 15th week, so keep on scrolling!

I couldn't resist...

In case you find this onesie hard to read, it says "Does this diaper make my butt look big?"

Yes, sweetie...I'm afraid it does. Good ol' BumGenius 3.0s!

Pretty Little Ladybug

I can't remember where these PJs came from, but they sure are cute! Arden is just now big enough to wear them.

Hi-ya!

Four Generations

We went to Greensboro for a couple of days last week to see Grandpa Bliss. He came all the way from California. The last time we saw him was at Jason and Sabrina's wedding 2.5 years ago. I'm glad he got to meet Arden!

Four Generations!
Arden, her dad Adam, his mom Mary Bernice, and her dad Arthur Bliss

Arden and her great grandpa. Such a little fussy face!

Below are some other pics I took while on our trip.

The only pic I could get of Jasmine with Arden. Ha!

Little Dancer

Here are some pics from Arden's 3-month photoshoot. My friend Crystie got her this cute "Little Dancer" outfit. Thanks, Crystie!

On a side note, I took Arden to the doctor today because I noticed a pink tint to her diaper inserts after she had dirtied them. I first noticed it on Sunday. I didn't see it with every dirty diaper, so I thought it might be nothing. When I saw it again today, though, I started to worry. So Adam and I took her to the doctor. He did a test to see if she had blood in her urine. It came back negative, so apparently all is well. He isn't sure what the pink tint is, but he knows it isn't blood. So our baby girl is just fine, and I have peace of mind.

Oh, and she's 9 pounds 15 ounces!!

Three Months Old Already?

I can't believe my little Arden is three months old today! Here are just a few of the pics I took of her this week (her 13th week). I will post some pics later of her 3-month photoshoot.

Aunt Catie came to babysit!

Arden wore Uncle Chris's Ralph Lauren polo dress to church.

Here she is wearing Miranda's "Gorgeous" outfit. Cute!

Thanks, Babe!

Arden turned 12 weeks yesterday. That means my maternity and FMLA leave would've been up, and I would've had to go back to work today. But thanks to the excellent job Adam did as an assistant grocery manager, he was offered a position as grocery manager here in New Bern. So here we are, and I was at home today taking care of Arden.

Thanks for all the hard work you do, babe. I love you!

Don't worry...I know Heavenly Father had His hand in this, too. I thank Him every single day. We are so blessed!

More Visitors!

Arden has had an eventful 12th week of life.

My cousins Cristin and Mike dropped by for a little visit. They've lived in California and recently moved to Nebraska. I hadn't seen them in 10 years! Cristin's dad lives in town, and they came to visit for Christmas.

Grandma and Grandpa Lewis stayed with us for a few days. Mike put shelves in our garage, fixed our computer desk, and finished the changing table he made for Arden. We also rang in the new year together. Actually, we were all asleep...thank goodness!

And last night we discovered Grandma Daniels' newborn "Twinkle Toes" outfit is too small. How sad!

Baby Got Back!

Happy New Year!

Today I have officially started using the BumGenious 3.0 cloth diapers my mom bought for me. This is my new year's resolution. She's finally big enough. I probably could've started using them earlier, but I've been nervous about them. You see, her baby pooh stains nearly everything it touches! I'm just afraid it'll stain the diapers, too.

The first diaper I put on Arden only had the newborn insert in it...didn't quite cut it. It'll be the regular inserts for her from now on! Oh, and I put a newborn insert and a regular insert in her diaper for bedtime, and she has to bend her knees in order for her feet to touch the ground when she's lying down. Hehe! The poor little girl looks so dumpy in them. At least she's too young to care!

So it's cloth diapers from here on out...except for when we visit Greensboro.
Wish me luck!
