It's Been Awhile...

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. Quite a few things have changed since then. I posted a lot today, so keep scrolling!

Changes

Adam has officially finished school. His last quiz was Friday. He is soooo glad! I am, too, of course. I think he'll be getting his diploma in May. He has also started management training at Harris Teeter. He had to switch stores to do so. He now works at the big one in Friendly Shopping Center. Training should last a few more months. After it ends, who knows where we'll be going. I guess we'll just wait and see!

I started my new position at Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point. The first few days were quite stressful, but all is well now. There are just a couple of things I'm still unsure of, but they'll get worked out eventually. Heavenly Father knew I could do it. I knew it, too; I just needed a little convincing. I really miss my friends at Hanes-Lineberry, but I'm very glad to be where I am.

We are officially part of the Colfax Ward again. Our records were transferred this past week. I imagine we have callings to look forward to. I've already been assigned to speak. It was supposed to happen last Sunday, but church was cancelled due to parking lot issues. Now I'll be speaking in February. Ugh! Oh, they had a chili cookoff last night. Adam entered but didn't win anything. There were quite a few pots of chili. I'm not sure, but I think it might've been a little biased. The chili was labeled with the maker's name, so.....who knows! I still thought his chili was the best.

I just learned yesterday that my cousin Rodney and his wife Moe had their second child, a daughter named Donovan Elizabeth, on Jan. 7. I've seen pics, and she's very cute. Congratulations to them and big brother Atticus!

Let's see...I guess that's all the big news...for now.

Happy Birthday, Mary Bernice!

Last Sunday was Mary Bernice's birthday. Jason, Sabrina, and Bryce came into town as well as Amy and the boys. Oh, and let's not forget the many dogs. I now realize I didn't get any pics of Mary Bernice. We all had a great time, though, and I think she did, too.

Gavin and Colby...don't ask...I'm not really sure myself.

Chef Gavin!

Gavin and Keaton with puppies galore!

Colby is the silliest boy of the all!

New cousin Bryce. It's hard to believe they were ever that little.

And, of course, sweet little Brycie.

Snow!

We had some snow/ice last Thursday and Saturday. Not so great to drive in, but it certainly is lovely!

Mmmm...Ice Cream!

Jasmine and Carl were enjoying some chocolate ice cream, so I just had to get some shots.

Carl made a bit of a mess, but as you can see, he cleaned it up right away.

All gone!

Bryce's Baby Blessing

The Sunday before New Year's we went to Charlotte to witness Bryce's baby blessing. It was pretty awesome to see generations of Kellies and Lewises making up the blessing circle. It was a very special day, and I'm glad I could be a part of it.

The Happy Parents

Peace!

Uncle Adam, Grandpa Mike, and Uncle Mark

Evy (Sabrina's niece) really enjoyed having Colby around!

I think she beat him up a little more than he was expecting, though.

Amanda's Wedding

I know this is a little late, but....our good friend Amanda got married Dec. 15, 2007, in the Raleigh NC Temple. It was a very cold and rainy day, but still a great day nontheless. Congrats to her and her husband Jason! We are so very happy for you both!!

Happy New Year!

Is it just me, or did 2007 fly by? We really didn't do anything for New Year's Eve this year. Adam was supposed to have the night off, but he had to work. However, we did go to his parents' house and played DVD Clue before he went to work. Adam got the game from my mom for Christmas last year, and we've never played it! It took us over two hours to play since it was our first time, but it was fun. Chris was at my dad's when I got home. We had fun playing with Jasmine and watching the ball drop.

New Year's Eve was my last day at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home. It was a very emotional and stressful day for me. I was sad about leaving all of my friends. Plus, I had a ton of work to do before I left. My sweet friends took me out to lunch at Golden Corral. Kyndal got me a cake, and Pam got me this cute little turtle that dances to "Funky Town." As you can see by the video, Jasmine loves that thing! Thanks Pam!
I start my first day at Sechrest Funeral Home tomorrow. I'm not horribly nervous about it, so I should be ok. And I know I'll see Kyndal and the gang again. It's not like I moved across the country. Everything will be just fine.
Anywho, Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

I was really trying to get this posted before the New Year, but oh well!
As you can see from the pics and videos below, we had lots of fun this Christmas! We were able to spend time with all of our family. Jason and Sabrina came back into town and left on Christmas Day. We also saw Amy and Mark's family on Keaton's birthday. Catie came home, too, but had to leave on Christmas night. We were so glad we could see everyone!
The Thursday before Christmas, we made goodies. I made triple chocolate fudge with toffee bits, peanut butter cracker sandwiches covered in white chocolate, and Adam made sugar cookies. Friday we delivered some of the homemade treats to people. Saturday was Keaton's 10th birthday. He went to see National Treasure, but Adam and I couldn't make it. We were able to hang out with him after the movie, though. Sunday night we drove around looking at Christmas lights. Monday was Christmas Eve, a.k.a. Becky's Christmas. We went to my mom's and had a lovely dinner. Becky opened her gifts from us, and we watched "Claymation Christmas" and "Elf." Afterwards, we headed over to the Lewises' and watched "A Christmas Story." Christmas Day was busy, as usual. We ended up staying at my dad's until 2 p.m....two hours later than anticipated. Jasmine played Santa's Little Helper. We then headed over to my mom's and watched "The Nativity Story." We didn't get to Adam's parents' until 6 p.m. No one was there except his parents. Jonathan left with Jason and Sabrina; and Amy, Mark and the kids left earlier, too. It was after 9:30 p.m. by the time we got back home. Catie was pulling out of the garage as we approached the house. I was very glad I hadn't missed her. I imagine it'll be awhile until I see her again.
Anywho, we had a very nice Christmas and hope you did, too! Enjoy the pics and videos!
