Gingerbread House of the Lord

This year Adam decided to create a gingerbread Salt Lake Temple. He was actually contemplating doing that or the Biltmore Estate. Good grief! The Salt Lake Temple was definitely easier. I was a little skeptical at first, but he did a great job! He made a stencil out of poster board. He even made the dough himself. My baby's so talented!

Jonathan made this cool lookin' snowman out of fondant and airheads.

Jason and Sabrina's gingerbread house didn't fare too well. Looks like the snowman had something to do with it....

Nice to Meet Ya!

Adam and I had the pleasure of meeting our newest nephew, baby Bryce, this past weekend. He's much smaller than I imagined! He's so cute and sweet. His lungs aren't quite fully developed yet, so his cries kind of sound like kitten mews. We get to see him again this weekend. Yay!

Craziest of the Crazy

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything. Our lives have been very crazy lately. We moved out of our apartment and back in with my dad on Dec. 1. Need our new address? Email me! It's been two weeks, but we're still not quite settled. The kitty wasn't too sure about his new home at first. He hid under our bed for almost two days. We finally knew he felt more at home when he rolled over so we could rub his belly. We live in the basement, and he waits at the top of the stairs for us to come home from work/school. He isn't allowed upstairs, which makes him want to go up there even more. He managed to sneak past us once, and I imagine he'll do it again. The kitty loves to look outside. The house is backed up to some woods, and he enjoys watching the birds. Every now and then he'll see Buddy, Mayeth's german shepherd, and his whole body will puff up. It's quite funny! Oh, and Jasmine loves the kitty. At first she was scared of him, then she would scream and chase him. Now she's calmed down some, and the kitty will actually come up to her on his own.
Adam will be finishing up his last on-site semester next week. He'll then be taking two online courses starting Dec. 20 and ending at the end of Jan. Then he'll be finished! We're both very excited. Adam will go into the management program at Harris Teeter in January. I will also be starting a new job in January. I've been working at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home for the past three years, but I will soon be working at Sechrest Funeral Home in High Point. I was offered the position a few weeks ago, but only just recently decided to take it. It means leaving my friends and taking on a lot more responsibility. I know it'll be good for me, though, and I'm up for the challenge. Wish me luck!
I can't believe Christmas is less than two weeks away. Adam and I managed to buy a tree last Saturday. It's a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree! I can't believe how expensive the trees are this year. Adam says they've always been that expensive, we've just been lucky in the past. Anywho, we went to a tree lot and looked at the smaller trees. They had a tree a little taller than me with branches on the top and at the bottom....none in the middle. They were selling it for $1.00! I'm sure they didn't think anyone would buy it. I didn't want to buy it, but Adam insisted. The poor thing hasn't been decorated yet, but I'm sure we'll accomplish that this weekend. I also need to get out my other Christmas decor. I suppose I need to clean up some other stuff first, though. I don't have much time!

Adam and I did manage to finish our Christmas Music Video for 2007. Look for a post soon!

The last photo taken in our apartment.

Such a silly little girl....

"Kitty Cat!"

Puff!

The Kitty: "Oh how I long to go where I must not."

Meredith: "I wanna go see Conan Oliver."

Oh Charlie Brown Christmas Tree....you will look lovely one of these days!

Mmm...chocolate!

Bubble wrap....so much fun!

Thanksgiving Extravaganza!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. We had two dinners Thursday, went to the Carolina Craftsmen's Christmas Classic at the coliseum on Friday, and ate more food on Saturday.
Thursday we had lunch at my mom's house with Aunt Becky. I coaxed everyone into taking some pics. I think they turned out great!

We then proceeded to Adam's parents' house to eat some more. Mark, Amy and the boys were there with their three little puppies. As you can see, I didn't get too many family pics.

Adam drew a "tattoo" on Jonathan's back for our Christmas music video (coming soon!), and of course Gavin and Colby wanted tattoos, too!

Saturday was our annual Daniels' Family Reunion (of sorts.) We had a great turn out this year.

Bryce Kelly Lewis

I'm a new aunt! Sabrina gave birth to Bryce Kelly Lewis on Tuesday, November 20. The little booger was six weeks early! He weighed in at 4 pounds 10 ounces and was almost 17 inches long. He's such a little guy, but he's doing very well. He has to stay in the ICU until he gains some weight, and then it's off to home sweet home. He has all sorts of IVs in him, poor fella. I haven't met him yet, but Adam and I can't wait to do so!

Congratulations to the new parents, Jason and Sabrina!

Chili Cookoff and Pinewood Derby

Last Friday, Nov. 9, our ward had a chili cookoff and pinewood derby race. Adam participated in both. The pinewood derby had no rules. For those of you who are familiar with pinewood derbies, no rules sounds like a bunch of fun! Adam immediately started coming up with all sorts of ideas. He decided to make the wheels out of pizza cutters and weigh it down with coins - probably 3 pounds worth. The first version didn't turn out too well (see picture below), but he eventually made it work. We were afraid it wasn't going to finish at all because of its weight. Adam tried it out when we got to church, and it worked great! It ended up winning a few times, but it lost twice. Since it was double-elimination, he was out. He won the chili cookoff again, though. Woohoo!

The ward activity was a little chaotic, but it was a lot of fun. I suppose it sort of makes up for the lack of a Trunk-or-Treat.

Version 1: way too tall and awkward.

Version 2

Here's one of Adam's winning races. A kid kept calling Adam's car "Cookie Cutter!"

Good job!

There was this cute setup on the stage for family photos. Great idea!
