This weekend, Adam had Friday and Saturday nights off of work. I love it when that happens! We get to spend so much time together, and it's just great. Friday we went to Walmart, which I thoroughly enjoy. Afterwards we played "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" I've only watched the show once. Adam thought it would be the perfect game for me...hardy har har. I did beat him, though, so it was all good.
Saturday we went to lunch with Meredith at a place called Amalfi's. We had pizza with meatballs and mushrooms...yum! We then dropped her off at mom's house and went to Adam's parents' house. The civic got new wiper blades and some more power steering fluid. It was making this horrible noise everytime I turned. Hopefully the problem was fixed. We watched "Les Miserables." I had never seen it or read it before, and I thought it was pretty good. After eating some soup, we got on an internet conference with Jason, Sabrina, and Bryce. It's hard to visit them and them us when the gas is so expensive, so the internet was the next best thing. Little Brycie is about 10 pounds now, and I think he looks just like Sabrina. We then played "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" again, and Adam and I found out we aren't. We went home. Adam went straight to bed, and I looked over my church talk I'd prepared over a month ago.
Yes, that's right, the day finally came for me to give my talk about prayer. I spoke with two youth speakers and a guy who's about to leave on his mission. I imagine most of the people in the congregation thought I was also a youth speaker until I said I've been married for nearly five years. I was going to make a joke about being the oldest speaker and yet being the shortest speaker, but I didn't. I was so nervous. Everyone said I did well, but I really don't think I did. I just felt like a bumbling idiot. I'm guessing no one else noticed? Maybe I did do ok. I'm just glad it's finally over with! Church was smooth sailing after that. Adam and I received church callings, but I cannot reveal them yet. I'll let you know next week. We watched "Labyrinth" this afternoon. I got it for Adam for Valentine's Day. It's so weird! David Bowie is so creepy! I remember watching it in art class while I was in middle school. I have no idea why! Maybe because of the artsyness?
And now I'm finally updating my blog. I'll try to do it more often.
